The Blackall Range is a mountain range just inland from Qld's Sunshine Coast. It includes the picturesque towns of Maleny, Mapleton and Montville. Great walks are everywhere but try Baroon Pocket Dam, Obi Obi Creek and Mary Caincross Reserve. It was named after Samuel Blackall, the second Governor of Queensland. The Blackall Range dominates the hinterland area of the Sunshine Coast, west of Nambour and Landsborough with many lookouts showcasing the magnificent Sunshine Coast and Glasshouse Mountains

Relax under a shady tree or walk around the sandy point to the famous Maroochydore Beach. Surf the waves at the beach or enjoy the calmer waters of the river by swimming, windsurfing or sailing. Maroochy River is an angler’s delight with great fishing all year round. And if that doesn’t tempt you, the Cotton Tree Swimming Pool complex, with 50m and 25m pools, is located right there too. Dine or shop at one of Cotton Tree's many local cafes, restaurants or boutiques.
Maroochy Surf Club is one of the most well known and respected clubs in Australia. Sit back and enjoy the view with a range of delicious meals, drinks, and daily specials. Australia Zoo is a 700-acre zoo located on the Sunshine Coast near Beerwah in Queensland Australia. There's always lots to see and do at Australia Zoo. Allow an entire day. This is under 30 minutes drive from Maroochydore and buses service the trip as well.
See the beaches of the Sunshine Coast from the air in a low-level sea plane flight. The Paradise Seaplane is a favourite spectacle of locals and tourists alike. See it taking off and landing on the Maroochydore River near Chambers Island but getting in the cockpit is a very special and once in a lifetime event.
